10 Questions: Hamlin

1. What do you feel is your biggest strength?

Hamlin: Obviously, my biggest strength is flat tracks. That's my background and what I really excel at. When we go to different tracks, that's where I do best.

2. What's the best advice you've received, and who was it from?

Hamlin: Probably from Tony Stewart: "You don't have to go as hard as the car will let you at times. Always save stuff for the end."

3. Who has made the most impact on your life?

Hamlin: Probably my parents. Just the way they handled my racing career. They'd probably have to be the biggest influence.

4. What's the best Christmas present you've ever received?

Hamlin: I would have to say I got a dirt bike from my parents that was completely unexpected. It wasn't long before I crashed it, but that was the best Christmas present I ever got.

5. Was there a teacher in school that stands out?

Hamlin: It's hard to say one certain teacher. I've got some favorites. Ms. Durazio from high school, she was one. I kind of had a relationship with her and her daughter, and I still have that today.

6. What's your favorite ice cream flavor.

Hamlin: Probably vanilla chocolate chip.

7. What was your first car?

Hamlin: A Ford Ranger splash when I was 16 years old. I fixed it up and actually got it in Mini Truck Magazine at one time.

8. What's your favorite road on which to drive?

Hamlin: My favorite place is Winterpock Road in Chesterfield, Va.

9. If you could take someone to eat in your hometown of Chesterfield, where would it be and what would you order?

Hamlin: Probably go to TGI Friday's on Hull Street and I would order the chicken fingers.

10. Who would you trade places if you could and why?

Hamlin: That's a tough one. Hmm. I'd probably like to trade with maybe the president so I could change a few things.
