Crew chief for Busch's NBS car fined for rule infractions

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR announced Tuesday that Mike Bumgarner, crew chief of the No. 5 Chevrolet driven by Kyle Busch in the Busch Series, has been penalized due to rules violations at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Bumgarner was fined $2,000 for violating Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used that do not conform to NASCAR rules and 20A -- 12.1A(8) (jacking bolts must be made of solid magnetic steel) of the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series Rule Book.

The infraction occurred during opening day inspection.
