John Quinn has assumed the role of crew chief at Wyler Racing, effective immediately. George Church had started the season as crew chief for driver Terry Cook but left the team following the Martinsville race to pursue other opportunities.

"We wish George nothing but the best. We appreciate all he has done to get us to where we are so far in 2008," Wyler Racing team manager Tom Buzze said. "There have been a lot of changes at this team since the end of last season and George came in and really helped stabilize things and keep the level of performance there."

Quinn now assumes the crew chief role for the No. 60 Wyler.com Toyota heading into the next series race at Kansas Speedway on April 26.

"I am excited to have John as crew chief," Cook said. "He has a great background and he's a proven winner. I won at Kansas in 2006 and John won at Kansas last year with Erik Darnell. In the very short term I think this combination can pay off pretty big benefits but I also think this is something that will keep this team in contention all season long."

Quinn's engineering expertise was put to use first as a shock specialist with several teams including DEI and Richard Childress Racing. He joined Roush in 2003 and was promoted to crew chief for Ricky Craven in 2005. He led Craven to one victory before leading Darnell to rookie of the year honors in 2006. He and Darnell combined for one victory at Kansas. He joined Wyler Racing in the offseason and served as team engineer and shock specialist.

"I appreciate the opportunity the Wyler family has given me here," Quinn said. "This is a top-flight race team with everything it takes to win races and chase after a championship. I am excited to get to Kansas with Terry and see what we can do together. It's a good track for him and I've had some success there too. We should be good there and hopefully it will just be the start of good things to come."
